This is Nastya, one of our volunteers. Day after day, she helps move vehicles, trucks, and engineering equipment purchased through your support into the hands of Ukrainian defenders.

It's not the part of the work that gets the most attention, but it's essential.
Because every vehicle delivered means more lives supported and more missions completed.

You really have to love what you do, its not JUST your job. You have be so consistent that the hard work just becomes a normal part of the process.

You have to learn how to live in the monotony, you have to be so consistent that anyone can find you and see what you're doing and they know that this is what you do.

The harder you work, the more lives you can save. That's why you have to love it.

Spent my birthday on the road yesterday as the little one and I drove 2000 km from the far north of the Arctic to the south of Norway through Finland and Sweden.

So I declare it my birthday week and will do “7 days of stories of my life”.

Trying a mini travel vlog of our journey back to Ukraine and the war and all the things in between that we call our life. But for now, my son and I will enjoy a pit stop at my sister’s place. She’s somewhere in the world as usual. Hong Kong and Sri Lanka I think was the latest. (She’s a captain ✈️). But my niece, nephew and daughter is here. My father lives nearby. And they can all spend some quality time with Rami before we head back to UA.

If I could tell this little indigenous girl enjoying life in the Arctic that when she turned 40 - this would be her life - I wouldn’t change a thing! Life has been pretty awesome, and I’m honestly just grateful to be alive and living it.

June 2023. Seven African heads of state flew to Kyiv. Among the points Ramaphosa carried from that visit, and into talks with Moscow, was a commitment to the return of Ukrainian children forcibly deported to Russia.
It was one item on a longer list. But it was named, it was agreed upon, and it was carried forward.
April 2025. Zelensky landed in Pretoria for the first official visit by a Ukrainian president to South Africa. He handed Ramaphosa a list. Not a policy position. Not a diplomatic note. A list of 400 children, by name, taken from their homes.
“I really hope President Ramaphosa will help us bring them back.”
Russia has forcefully deported over 19,500 Ukrainian children since the full-scale invasion began. Only 1,284 had been brought home so far.
The number is small. The war is not over. South Africa can help to get Ukrainian children back. In 2025, Ramaphosa received 400 names of Ukrainian forcibly deported children. Can we help to bring more children to their families?
For Ukraine, every child returned is not a statistic. It is a family made whole again. It is evidence that the international community has not looked away.
South Africa has not looked away.
