And if you've never had the pleasure of Cabin Pressure, seek it out immediately. One of the Very Best British sitcoms, ever. Benedict Cumberbatch, Roger Allam, Pauline Cole, John Finnemore (also the writer), Anthony Head and a whole host of excellent cameos.

@DPSzmytke So glad someone else has posted about Cabin Pressure. Wasn’t he just perfect as Herc?! A wonderful foil for Douglas and a cracking actor. I love the ‘smooth off’ description. Perfect. So sad that he has passed away.

Like so many others how could anyone not be deeply shocked and upset by the police body cam footage revealing the horror and injustice of the tragic and unnecessary murder of young Henry Nowak.

The anger I felt when the murderer lied that he’d had his hair tugged and pointed to a non-existent eye assault that wasn’t even marked when the police asked if he, the murderer, was alright.

The incredulity when the young dying man gasped he couldn’t breathe and he’d been stabbed but was met with a gruff disbelieving and unsympathetic throw-away ‘it doesn’t look like you’ve been stabbed, mate’. Mate?

The fact Henry had been cuffed and couldn’t protest or gesticulate visually and was told he was lying when the real liar was standing inches away from the policemen.

The one way I can express my sorrow and support for the family is the only way how. Of course it’s inadequate but it’s sincere and that is to light a candle at Mass today and ask that his innocent soul be guided heavenward and the family be comforted in their grief.
