I don’t know who needs to see this, but I noticed some typos in the @PicturehouseUS@FrankMillerInk doc. American Flagg was misspelled with just one G and Ben Caldwell is misspelled Ben Cadwell.
Other than that, I enjoyed it. It’s having me revisit all my Miller books
@AdamBlumenau Adding even just a single rule onto Kids on Bikes makes it almost a different game, even if the mechanics at the base are the same. I don’t see why this is actually a problem. I am sure KB sees revenue increase every time it is mentioned by D20.
@AdamBlumenau At what point do changes make a game something the original isn’t? Hacking D&D would take real work, and at that point, you are just making a different game. A few homebrew rules don’t do that for a game as rules-heavy as D&D.
@AdamBlumenau They hack the system, which is what it is designed to do (Kids on Bikes is barely a system as it is). Why play another game? They like that one, it takes no time to explain, and it facilitates what they want without doing much else.
@AdamBlumenau DnD isn’t advertised on Dropout, as far as I can tell. They never mention it by name, nor link to the game as such. They play it, modified and hacked as everyone does. However, they always mention by name the system they use if it is indie.
@AdamBlumenau @RALaFrance @lewdgreg They are obviously using the rules they think fit best for the kind of game they want to play together. I don’t understand why this is an issue.
@CalltoActivism “I hope not. Please pray for me. I’ll do the same for you.”
Respond to their pure vitriol with kindness. It will break them. They will not have a clue how to proceed.
@T_Cadedo@catholickungfu And then I think Morrison’s New X-Men and then House of M is a great state.
Ultimate X-Men (from the early 2000s) is good for a while, and is its own continuity, so that’s another option.
@T_Cadedo@catholickungfu The Claremont Run is kind of unrivaled, so beginning with the Marvel Epic Collection (Vol. 5: Second Genesis) is a good way to go. https://t.co/Ej4bAjBxl9
@SamMacD86958750@mary_pezzulo The on-campus atmosphere has changed dramatically in the last ten years, at least on the part of students. In some ways, for the better (and for the worse). But admin and friars are still the same as ever.
There are better Newman-type schools though. Send them to UD.
@rightscholar Far right Catholics have done a great job at making Catholicism have (or appear to have) relevance to individual lives, and to a larger community. It’s all based in a shitty understanding of Christianity and “the West,” but still.
@justinecleaves@WTAE This is heartbreaking. I saw that WTAE garbage and felt your dad’s pain and frustration. As a dad, who would do anything for his son, I felt it.
I am so sorry for your family’s loss.
