Stepping Stones has had an amazing morning. We're celebrating England's brilliant win in the Euros. The children have been dancing to football anthems, and making England flags. The goal nets are in the garden! We are sure we have some up and coming professionals in training.
This week we are concentrating on promoting our children's independence. Many of our children will be moving on to school very soon, and learning simple skills like putting on their own boots, coats and shoes is very important. They also help to prepare their own snack.
Following on with our Sea World theme, here are some of the things that we are doing today at Stepping Stones. We are expecting lots of fun with our Pin the Eye Patch on the Pirate Game. Its amazing how many areas of learning can be enjoyed doing such fun activities.
On this lovely sunny day we created a beach with sand, water, and sea creatures. It may look messy, but they had great fun!! The construction area was very popular today. We had some great volunteers too when it came to independently tidying away. Well done helpers!!
We are having an amazing morning at Stepping Stones, making Bubble Wrap Rainbows, and playing with Sea Life Sand. Our Cafe is open for the children to help prepare their own healthy snack promoting independence and learning new practical skills.
Our children had amazing fun this week with our dinosaur theme. They've been rescuing dinosaurs from blue ice!! They enjoyed the activity and were so keen to tell their parents all about it. If you'd like to try it at home, it was only blue food colouring and easily washed off!!
Stepping Stones children are taking part in a sponsored "Ready Steady Read" this week. We hope all our families will enjoy sharing their favourite books at home and we can't wait to hear all about it. We hope you will all support this fundraising event.
Our theme this week is Science and Technology. Our children have enjoyed fishing for the metal coins with the magnets, and playing with a selection of our IT resources.
We love to share our preschool display boards. The Life cycle of a butterfly theme, Dinosaurs theme, and our Magical Maths Learning board. Our children love the activities and learning activities that we plan for them each term. They are so proud to see their art displayed.
Here are two examples of the bubble painting that we have been doing today at Stepping Stones. Imagine what a beautiful display they will make on the window with the sun shining through the colours!!
We are delighted be back after the 2 week break. We hope everyone had some lovely family time. The older children have been so thrilled to tell us their news about which schools they will be going to in September. Very exciting time for them.
Last day of term and a fabulous note to end on. Our children have had wonderful fun this week playing out in the new garden. A big thank you to PAHS - Outdoor play specialists for doing such a brilliant job! We cant thank you enough. It's been such a long time in planning. TY
We are delighted to have "Back To Nature Gardening" with us this morning, continuing with the garden renovation scheme. We are so excited to see it all coming together. Next week we hope our children will be able to explore their new environment. Brilliant News!
This Friday is Red Nose 🔴 Day.
Super Hero Theme!! We are asking all of the children to dress up as either: a fictional superhero character, or someone they believe to be a true hero like a nurse police officer, teacher or family member. Donations £1. Thanks for your support!!
At Stepping Stones we are learning about the life cycles of Frogs and Butterflies. Look at our little caterpillars and tadpoles. We can see them changing already and we've only had them for a few days!! We are so excited to see them grow.
World Book Day was celebrated in Stepping Stones with some wonderful stories. We had some fabulous costumes from children in attendance and those taking part at home. Don't they look fabulous? It is so important to encourage and nurture a love of books at an early age.
To start the week we are celebrating St David's Day today. We have some lovely activities planned, including making daffodils. We also have a dinosaur theme, and will be having lots of fun with that.
Our garden make over is really taking shape. We are in need of an offcut of astro turf/artificial grass if anyone has any left over from a home project. 6 ft x 11 ft. We can't wait for the children to be able to fully explore the new area. We have waited so long for this!!

As part of Children's Mental Health Awareness week, we had "Express yourself Friday". Some of the children shared their likes and hobbies and expressed themselves in activities. They wore whatever they wanted to, and felt comfortable in..we had some great outfits! Lots of fun!!
