The Blue Springs South High School baseball team relied on strong hitting and pitching en route to its first Missouri State Championship trophy, but providing elite level defense all year was the glove of shortstop Cooper Callahan. The Jaguar junior was recently awarded a Rawlings Gold Glove award for his stellar defensive play.

One of only nine high school players nationwide to receive the honor, Callahan committed just three errors all season for the 27-7 Jaguars. He tallied 128 total chances, with 78 assists and 47 putouts. Cooper, the son of Jaguars assistant coach Shawn Callahan, was also named the Examiner’s 2025 Baseball Player of the Year.
