@MarsmanMelvin Hello!
It’s a good thought but we use the term infestation because that is the scientific meaning when these flies infect even one animal because a small cut can contain hundreds of larvae. The term you are thinking of is outbreak or swarm. Hope that clears it up.
An infestation of the flesh-eating flies has been confirmed in South Texas, setting off alarm bells for the state’s cattle industry.
Here is a breakdown of why the cattle industry and government leaders are concerned about a parasitic fly:

After a one-month reprieve, smokeable hemp products, such as flower buds and rolled joints, must be pulled from shelves again as the state appeals the latest ruling.

The state could invoke this ruling to allow the state health agency to ban any or all consumable hemp products based on its statutory responsibilities to protect Texans.

A Travis County district judge has allowed the sale of natural smokeable hemp products, such as flower buds and rolled joints, to continue until July 27.

The Texas Supreme Court also ruled Friday that the state health agency had the right to ban another natural intoxicating hemp compound called delta-8 THC because state law gives the agency overarching authority to protect Texans.

Day 3 of the hearing to determine the future of consumable hemp has wrapped. A decision by the judge is expected before the current TRO runs out at 5 p.m. tomorrow.
