Ridiculous that people with health jobs can't get into WA right now, yet WAHealth calling out for staff. System needs to be fixed for us to enter. Happy to provide advice on what needs fixing but no one is listening @MarkMcGowanMP @WAHealth @CHO_WAHealth@AMA_WA@AMA_WAPresident
An excellent “strategy and practical action” to recruit and retain workers is to pay them for the job they do... 🤷♀️
We desperately need more great people working in #mentalhealth. Seems pretty clear where to start.

“the best time to start building a coal-fired power station was 10 years ago, and the second best time is now.”
the last coal power station built in australia was bluewaters, in WA — exactly 10 years ago.
the owner, griffin coal, went bust within 12 months.
go @mattjcan!
Stories from unaccredited surgical registrars are rarely in the public domain.
This account from an unaccredited surgical registrar in NSW is the most brutally honest and harrowing of experience I have ever read.
This cannot stand.

“An ear infection! But last night they said his ears looked fine.”
They probably did. Reminder 2 all of us about that thing called progression of illness & not throwing colleagues under the bus w/a negative judgment just because the findings are different a day later.

Hi @TheRACP, given this year’s trainees have just paid for their written exam and there is still NO explanation forthcoming of what happened in *last* year’s written, can you advise if the report commissioned will even be released before the next written?
On the 1-year anniversary of the marriage equality vote, I invite all the hardened and successful campaigners to turn their attention to a Constitutional inequality that lingers: our relationship with our first people. It waits for all of us, but are we good enough?
here are 3 things i've never done:
- left a rental property without thoroughly deep cleaning it
- moved out without a landlord trying to charge me for at least some cleaning
- moved in anywhere totally clean
.@PeterDutton_MP was Federal Health Minister early in my time as AMA Vice President. If his record is repeated as Prime Minister, I shudder at the consequences for the vulnerable in our community #auspol
Are older doctors worse? 45/49 studies say yes. For surgeons aged >60, should stick with high volume, low complexity surgery. Not CABG, not Whipple’s.
For diagnostics, pattern recognition is better but there is task fixation that may increase errors.

Only a few more days to fill out #nswhhc! Grab a coffee, spend 5 minutes telling us how your hospital fares and go in the draw to win some cash! A morning well spent https://t.co/BBhLRzDcch
Remember the bit in 1984 when they reduce the chocolate ration from 20g to 10g a week, and Winston has to change all the archives to make it look like it used to be 5g a week, and the loyal population stage a rally praising Big Brother for increasing the chocolate ration…? https://t.co/jSgKPDZSIH
