The year I dressed up as Santa and helped deliver #DominosPizza's to raise money for #Easterseals. All tips to "Santa" went to those with disabilities. I was the tallest & skinniest "Santa" ever but it was a fun & rewarding charity to be involved with. From the 12.14.95 #PalItem
If you ever attended a Kicks 96 remote in the 90's, there was a good chance you would find free burgers (#JTM's) and drinks. Here is a remote at #JDByrider on Chester Blvd. in Richmond circa 1998. By the sign on the railing, it was apparently their #grandopening.
.@bryan_white performed live at the #WayneCountyFairgrounds in Richmond, IN on July 7, 1996. He had just released "I'm Not Supposed To Love You Anymore" & "So Much For Pretending." Amazingly, considering he had racked up three #1 songs, the show was absolutely free to attend.
I started doing the #ImpossibleQuestion on October 25, 1998. By the early 2000's I was fortunate enough to get my own billboard promoting it. The first one could be seen driving south on Chester Blvd. and the second one could be seen driving south on Williamsburg Pike/NW 5th.
Who had one of these in the late 90's? When I think of the hundreds of things that I passed out at live broadcasts and events for free, the Kicks 96 #keychain was probably the most popular. Back when Kicks 96 was "Hot Country."
.@kennychesney performed live at the #WayneCountyFairgrounds in Richmond, IN on July 11, '99. He had just released, "You Had Me From Hello" & "She Thinks My Tractor Is Sexy." Soon after this show he would stop performing at county fairs and become a nationally touring arena act.
Happy Holidays from the year 2005! A Kicks 96 billboard that would have been up in the Whitewater Valley throughout the season. The then Kicks 96 airstaff, from left to right: Buddha, Steve Baker, Angie Fox, & Lance Allen.
For those too young to remember or that may not have been living in the area at the time, in the 80's and early 90's, 96.1 was a rock station called K-96. Brewer Broadcasting flipped formats Aug 3, '93 and became Kicks 96. Here are a few bumper stickers I have in my collection.
