Last week I gave a patient zoledronic acid 4 mg IV (Zomeda) for hypercalcemia. Cost the hospital $50.
Today I ordered zoledronic acid 5 mg IV (Reclast) for osteoporosis and the pharmacy rejected the order because it costs $3000.
