Whoever is the lighting designer for @charlieputh's current tour is my new favorite person. 📸🤩 What a beautiful show it was to photograph last night! Anyone know who it is?
@nickbaumgardner@ScottDochterman Reminds me of the criticism Alex Boone got when he complained about Harbaugh's time with the 49ers, saying he needs to stop because they "got over the mountain"... even though they didn't win the Super Bowl.
@observantview I had a similar reaction upon seeing the chair he was sitting in when it happened, which is on display at the Henry Ford Museum in Detroit! https://t.co/kv1pUEG4F4
The ones who treat photographers badly are the minority, at least for now. We shouldn't encourage more such behavior by signing over our valuable rights for nothing.
I will never understand bands who demand photogs give them free, unlimited use of their creative work (or worse, the copyright outright) in exchange for the privilege of covering their shows. Isn't the free publicity we provide for your tour enough value already?
On a positive note, the vast majority of artists don't exploit photographers. Some of the biggest artists in the world have reasonable and fair terms, often reiterating commercial use restrictions that are already enshrined in law.
