Really enjoyed seeing @simon_reeve last night @thehawthcrawley. Fascinating tales. Simon is very insightful regarding tourism & its plus points: see the world, meet the locals, eat with them, visit parks/sanctuaries/conservation areas...& just do it. And, he's a nice chap too!

Luxembourg has become the first country in the world to make all standard public transport completely free, covering buses, trams, and trains nationwide.
Funded through taxes instead of fares, the policy aims to ease heavy traffic and cut emissions by encouraging people to leave their cars behind. By removing ticket costs and barriers, public transport is treated more like an essential public service, simple, accessible, and open to everyone, including visitors and cross-border commuters.
The results have been noticeable: more people are using public transport, roads are less congested, and urban air quality has improved. While premium first-class rail still requires payment, everyday travel is now seamless, just get on and go.
This bold approach has positioned Luxembourg as a global example of how making transport free can help shift habits toward greener, more sustainable travel.

How will the #M25 be upgraded as part of Heathrow’s proposed 100% privately funded third runway? Heathrow’s video reveals the answers you’ve been asking: We build the future right next to the present.
Built ‘offline’, the new section of road will be constructed 130 metres to the west of the current M25 section. In carefully planned overnight operations, traffic will be switched to the new section.
This keeps construction separate from daily M25 commuters and reduces the impact on local community roads, while allowing Heathrow to build the remainder of the third runway and remove the old M25 section.
Explore the full method in the video below ⬇️ and learn more about the proposed plans ➡️ https://t.co/NIwm0ucNAw
