@will_doran Closest to power generator is least wire cost and resistance loss. (Same as the brick plant close by.) Also surprising any would care that close to a nuke plant... it's heavy industrial use.
@christianbrits Temporarily gone maybe, but AHJs always review permit submittals. The chief point of zoning is to prevent munitions plants next to elementary schools, gun ranges in the town square, and houses in flood zones.
This always reminds me of the "joke" definition of a Ph.D.:
PhD: They give you a Bachelor's degree once you know *everything*,
then a Master's once you realize you don't know *anything*,
but a PhD once you realize *nobody else* knows anything either.
I feel as if most of the building design and construction industry has been under the impression asbestos was banned decades ago, with few realizing it is still everywhere.
The stuff has been continually used since 1983 efforts in:
• VCT (vinyl composition tile), those 12" square flooring tiles you see *everywhere*
• textured paint
• vermiculite building insulation
• auto brake pads (the dust is everywhere there's traffic)
@homieofweb3@InternetH0F They are diametrically opposed. Gentrification versus the stereotypical high crime area. (Although there was lots of gunfire out in the country where I grew up, too.)
