@TheRochaSays@Shudder To clarify: I’m a guy saying that talking about movies is less important than talking about systemic racism and police brutality when the country is gripped in protests about systemic racism and police brutality. Now you can say “steve, I can do both” and that’s 100% fair.
@TheRochaSays@Shudder I don’t write articles John, I work for a game company as a storyteller. And again, I’m not telling you not to promote your stuff in general: it was me sincerely saying I’m not sure it’s the right time for that in this particular moment.
@TheRochaSays@Shudder All this is to say: I like you. I’m not telling you what to do. I think your twitter feed has been full of useful and important information. I also think that there’s a lot of people who aren’t ready for people to go on like things are normal
@TheRochaSays@Shudder I’m not telling you what to do with your channel. Diversions during dark times are important and making content is a laudable thing. I’m just saying when scrolling through images of police brutality and cries for justice seeing ads for channels (not just yours) doesn’t feel good
@TheRochaSays@Shudder I also understand that while there is a crisis is going on people still need to make a living. And to some extent that demands promotion. But like: as a consumer of content, anything I’ve tried to watch or listen to has turned to ash in my mouth
Please help me understand what just happened here, because I thought that freedom of speech and non violent protest were a core tenets of the United States constitution:
A lot of my “so called fans” are asking why I don’t just shut up and make you laugh. My Grandparents were Jews. For THAT they were sent to Camps & forced to see their families murdered. If you have a voice & you remain silent, you are a part of the problem. Not the solution.
