@ianmisner@learnwithmattc I think they will be blocked from release if there is a problem. I believe there is some checking happening during the delay and they will get an email from the plugins team. My plugins have just been released after the delay without issue.
@learnwithmattc Sure, but if people stopped assuming every WordPress change was the end of the world, what would happen to all those engagement metrics? 😜
A product trend is not automatically an ecosystem trend. Some plugins decline because the market changed around them. Others grow in the same ecosystem.
Before declaring an entire platform is booming or dying, it’s worth asking: "Is this signal about the ecosystem, or about this specific product?"

I wasn’t being optimistic. I was pointing out that the data doesn’t tell us the magnitude.
In fact, it could be more pessimistic than the original claim. A plugin dropping from 6M+ to 5M+ could have lost anywhere from a handful of installs to nearly 2 million installs because .org only reports milestone buckets.
My point wasn’t that the decline is small. It’s that we simply don’t know how large it is from the public data alone.
The only fact we can infer is that WPForms is now below the 6M milestone. We don’t know whether it has 5,999,999 installs or 5,000,000 installs.
Because .org only reports milestone buckets, the actual decline could be anywhere from essentially zero to nearly 2 million installs. Without the underlying data, it’s not possible to conclude that plugins are "losing installs in masses" based on a milestone change alone.
In about 15 min. @ 1 PM Central, @stevejonesdev & @Will_Patton_88 are going to show off a major rework and modernization of issues screens in Accessibility Checker Pro, going from multiple pages to a SPA. It's so cool! Check it out and ask any questions in the chat. https://t.co/XrrgwIsV6D

We raised rates this year for the first time in five years and as @heyamberhinds said, it was an overall success. Mainly due to delivering consistent updates, improvements, and support. You're not just buying Accessibility Checker; you're getting Equalize Digital as a partner. The software today is not the same software sold five years ago and the price needs to correct for that.
