Modern culture has redefined repentance, reducing it to little more than an apology or an attempt to "make amends." In doing so, it strips away the spiritual nature of true repentance. An apology is often viewed as a one-time act, but for the believer, repentance is an ongoing posture of the heart that requires continual dependence on God's grace.

Repentance is neither optional nor negotiable in the Christian life. It is evidenced by a transformed heart and a changed life. As Scripture teaches, genuine repentance must bear fruit.

Totally agree 100%. Jesus was not a passive little hippie, especially in the face of injustice and despite what many of our modern day man-bun theologians try to sell us.
Sometimes faith looks like peace and gentleness, sometimes it looks like a full-on bar room brawl. Jesus did not hesitate to get up in someone's face and be confrontational.

I used to piece my faith together from other men, like a big spiritual jigsaw puzzle.  A few pieces from this pastor, a few pieces from this podcaster, some from this celebrity pastor with his latest and greatest life-changing book, selling Jesus with all the cool trinkets and swag from their websites. Our post-Christian world has been conditioned to get all of our theology from YouTube and TikTok. We follow personalities and celebrity status, whoever has the most "likes" or largest number of YouTube Followers. It has become a disease, allowing the reputations and authority from "Christian" social media content to shape our faith. We listen intently but we never check or question. Now all of these "pastors" are arguing over it, whose theology is right, whose theology is without merit. We cannot hear the scriptures with everyone arguing over it.  When Paul preached to the Bereans, they verified his teachings against the scriptures. The Bereans were known for their intellect and spiritual tenacity. Imagine, the Apostle Paul being questioned, being held up to the standard of the scriptures. The Bereans did not blindly accept Paul's teachings but instead searched the Hebrew Bible daily to test the validity of his words. Just as the Bereans diligently cross-referenced Paul’s teachings with the Hebrew Scriptures daily, we too must exercise rigorous discernment. In an era saturated with self-proclaimed teachers, testing every message against biblical truth remains essential.
