2. People have a stronger preference for adding renewables than phasing out fossil fuels. This indicates a cognitive bias favouring an energy addition over an energy transition (whether for better or worse). See @ArdenRowell & @CassSunstein for research on similar biases in law.

3. Personal traits matter less than we think. Our study found that gender, education, and political orientation do not influence the associations, supporting the Consumer Model proposed Ansolabehere & @DavidKonisky.

1. Emotions shape policy views! Emotions about climate change translate into greater support for hydro, solar & wind. Policy actors should focus on the emotional dimensions of climate change.
