Walley's Quarry: Complaints increasing at smelly landfill. Absolutely horrendous this weekend 25,26/11/23 and @NewsNBC @EnvAgency do absolutely nothing to stop it. Embarrassing. https://t.co/Pi04bqnpz4
zero confidence in Environment agency, how ridiculous Sunak does @AaronBell4NUL we all know this poisoning is ending when #WalleysQuarry decide its ending, & there will be no consequences for the permit breachers, massive consequences for health of your constituents #stopthestink
@wheezylikesund1 Absolutely spot on 😭😭heartbreaking… why oh why haven’t & don’t they listen to the people who are living the nightmare & suffering health impacts from the poisonous toxic gases & particulate matter . They really don’t think the daily sufferings& worry is important 😡🤮🧸😭!
.@NewsNBC & @SoTCityCouncil are calling for a public inquiry into what they've described as a massive failure by the Environment Agency. The body that regulates the hydrogen sulphide levels at Walleys Quarry, #Silverdale revealed levels have been under reported.
Public health officials no longer feel they can trust data that had been keeping track of fumes around a #Staffordshire landfill.

Statement from Stop the Stink
We are appalled to learn that the levels of pollution from Walleys Quarry have been much worse than the Environment Agency have claimed for more than two years. Understated by up to 50%

@PStopthestink Very suspicious indeed. The site has been spewing its filth for weeks, much worse than ever. Low and behold the monitoring of said filth isn’t ‘working correctly’. @ClareDinnisEA will no doubt disappear for a few weeks/months, again. Everything in order? 🙄
The Environment Agency (EA) released a statement earlier this month confirming it had conducted an unannounced inspection at the Silverdale site.

Last night the stink from the landfill was absolutely disgusting, we had headaches and sore eyes
Red industries have no conscience or shame for what they are doing to the environment and the people of Newcastle,
And the EA are allowing them to do it
