Trump ripped up the walkway between the West Wing and the mansion to replace it with polished African granite carved in Italy. "Paid for by me," he claimed. Except that's not true. Taxpayers paid $689,232, per documents obtained by @michaelscherer https://t.co/7l2bkD0MIH
Folarin Balogun, the striker responsible for 3 of the US’s 6 goals in the WC so far, would not be considered a US citizen under Trump’s plan to repeal birthright citizenship.

@MEBBallRankings You know who navigated this environment? Pingree. Had establishment backing (team Mills), endorsed populist firebrand Platner, got a quasi-endorsement in return and played the RCV coalition game well enough to come from behind and beat Shah. It worked.
Also wonder if the DCCC intervention for Baldacci hurt more than helped. There’s palpable anger at establishment Dems (Platner is running on it). And it’s not going to get the same pass it once did when the perception among a lot of Dem voters is that’s responsible for Trump 2.0
The reason Joe Baldacci lost is because he ran a super lazy campaign, relying on endorsements and inertia to win. He ran a 2010 campaign in 2026. Dunlap — and even Wood — outhustled him.
@MEBBallRankings Hard for candidates to turn down money support when they’re told it’s the only way to win. Also, his campaign manager was a paid consultant for Golden. That might have played a role in getting it in the first place
@MEBBallRankings And all three of his opponents were quick to attack him for it. Don’t think they would’ve have drawn attention to it unless they thought it hurt him
This. All day this. Avg. RCV runoff has taken 8.5 days, but this time they kept saying "they're close" when they weren't and now everyone is wondering why it's taking so long. Now they're gonna drop results at like 8 pm on the eve of a long weekend. Maybe.

If you haven't been following along -- and good on you if you haven't or don't have to -- they're going to give a two-hour notice before they run this thing. They have not done that yet. It's 8 p.m.
Maine Republicans had their best GOP gubernatorial primary turnout since tea party in 2010. But Democratic U.S. Senate hopeful Graham Platner had more votes than all 8 GOP candidates -- and more than any Dem primary Sen candidate since ME began electing senators by popular vote
