You cannot build a church on consumers. They'll desert you at a moment's notice because they have no commitments beyond meeting their own needs. Jesus can take twelve disciples and build a movement that changes the world. He could never have done that with consumers.

@DnormanK facing the SBC today! It was gut wrenching to read this article. I believe he makes a strong point in that if we don’t address what needs to change in order to come up with constructive solutions we will continue to fall deeper into the sin of racism, sexual abuse and much more!

@DnormanK David I ageee that the 2 issues are not to be seen as equivalent nor were they met to be. Racism and sexual abuse are not connected in this discussion but do need to be addressed by the SBC with equal weight and importance. I think French was addressing the many different issues
