Depending on the model, it took 28 to 33 standard 20-liter Jerry cans to completely fill the fuel tanks of an empty Sherman tank. ⛽️

Each full steel Jerry can weighed roughly 42 pounds, meaning crew members had to heft nearly 1,400 pounds of fuel & steel by hand just to top off a single tank before it could roll into battle. 🪖
