Ok-deep breaths. I wrote a deeply personal piece re some of my experiences/observations of family violence. Sharing such stories can be part of the collaborative effort to denounce violence against women, girls & people of all genders.

@Rusty421544@theprojecttv Quite a wild read. The material is clearly just about girls not having to be subservient to domination by masculinist pricks.
Thank you to @theprojecttv for highlighting our new @ANROWS guide, which explains the manosphere, its harms, and how boys and young men are drawn into these spaces—especially via social media—and how schools can respond 👇

In @ConversationEDU I summarise what @netflixth Louis Theroux’s Inside the Manosphere doco shows: the brazen entitlement of influencers, how they recruit boys, the harms to girls & women, and why trauma doesn’t drive or explain misogyny. https://t.co/CW3BkNLMth
Theroux’s new Netflix documentary exposes the 'manfluencers' profiting off male grievance – and hurting both men and women in the process. @SteveRoberts_@MonashUni https://t.co/R9x1MiJz6w

“Given the choice of anyone in the world, whom would you want as a dinner guest?” I was asked that last weekend, and if I had to answer right now, I would say @SuzieMillerWrtr, playwright of Inter Alia. I want to talk through what comes next, to imagine a sequel or a way forward. A new way! This film left me crying for three days. It’s beautiful, but brutal. And it is unsettling in the right kind of way, necessary for change. But I am keen to know, what’s next for us?
Overall, Inter Alia: 5 stars; the patriarchy: 1 star

📢 New Publication today: ‘Examining the Impact of Domestic and Family Violence on Young Australians’ School-Level Education.’
🧒📚 Our findings show that while schools often serve as the most consistent point of contact for young people experiencing abuse, they are not always equipped to recognise or respond to these experiences.

Time to end the league table deficit narrative – my expert comment on The Educator indicates more ways in which the NAPLAN can be used to address inequity through complex systems thinking approaches that reduce the social-cognitive overload on schools.
