I saw @SteveSaxty’s remarkable and definitive books on @BMW design early and up close when I edited them. Now the 3-volume boxed set is shipping, it’s delightful to see that others, notably @StvCr, are equally impressed. @autocar 3 April 24
@IanCallum @elan_nick@renaultgroup I used to rock around Guildford in a green one for a while in the early 90s. I felt it was very cool. My neighbors were sadly less car literate.
They may be boxes of books to you. But to me they are the culmination of three years of work, OK it was a pleasure really, this is the first batch of "BMW by Design" 3-book sets being readied for their readers to receive this week. If you've bought one, thank you!
Lovely to see my work featured this month in a mag I've loved reading for years and one where @sniffpetrol rather rashly nominated me as his “favourite author” last month. Thanks everyone at @evomagazine - it was fun. We should do it again sometime.
There is nothing like the pleasure of seeing the initial prototypes of a new book. Here’s the first handmade copy of BMW’s Hidden Gems - guess the cover car!
If you're interested in how this memorably gruesome @Autocar test came about by then join Adam Gompertz of @revslimiter and me tomorrow night at 8pm. We'll talk about how Ford got into such a pickle with the Escort and redeemed it all with the Focus. https://t.co/d3dUHGuFdC
@elan_nick@Ford There’s some fun stories behind so many of those wheels. It was fun to write. Best one is the RS seven spoke was inspired by a Porsche 944 wheel, see if you can recall it.
@Jim_Holder That's so sad for readers, Haymarket, and you @Jim_holder to see change. But from change begins something new, you've done a great job Im told during difficult times and I wish you well with that next chapter.
