I love the spirit of the fire service and believe that no good team meets in the huddle, Chief Fire Officer (CFO), weather geek!

@wxbywilliams I thought it was odd that there wasn’t even a mention of “something to watch” given potential impacts. Appreciate the thoughts and update.

@BobLonsberry Two of the best, Bob. Gentlemen and awesome firefighters. Very nice to recognize their service and commitment to the City of Rochester and the greater Monroe County Fire Service. They have sacrificed much just like so many before them.

While we wait to learn more, our thoughts go out to all involved. Sad to see this news early this am.

@Chief2C17 Sam, thanks for taking a chance on me and for all of the guidance, support, and leadership over the years. Will I miss all of the phone calls and texts at 3am…probably. Here’s to a long and healthy retirement my friend!

[Steve Schalabba @SteveSchalabba]

A tale of 2 canals this week depending on where you were (Brighton & Fairport)

[Steve Schalabba @SteveSchalabba]

@DrSianProctor Not Fairport, Doc?🤣🤣🤣

1) This a great example of what a leader does ... what FDNY Battalion Chief Jerry Tracy did as the new Squads were established: Laying out expectations clearly, stressing that credibility must be earned, mentoring younger members & letting them get the credit for what they did ..

Todays Fifth Alarm Fire in the Bronx on the Grand Concourse Once started as a lithium ion battery scooter fire. We need laws enacted fast to protect all NYers & people who live in every city. https://t.co/BpZgYgnpk0

[FDNY @FDNY]

Per FDNY Fire Marshals, the cause of today’s 5-alarm fire at 2096 Grand Concourse in the Bronx was a lithium-ion battery which powered a scooter.
