@MelMitchell1 hi there I enjoyed your #newscientist interview. I noticed you contrasted AI’s “sophisticated statistical associations” with “human reasoning”. Are we sure that these aren’t actually close cousins? I thought biological brains run, fundamentally, on associations?
@lenmarsh@SydneyAirport so I cleared security at 8.05, i.e. about 30 minutes. Worth noting there are two queues - the main one which had 2 security lanes and then an urgent queue with 4. They keep asking anyone whose flight is less than an hr away to join the urgent queue.
@hausfath so I'm just thinking, those models must have taken into account / forecast the change in human activities since that time? World economic growth etc?
I'm delighted to team up with @sophfenton (erstwhile school founder, ex RMIT Associate Dean, PhD candidate, and now my colleague) for the relaunch of our popular workshop. Nov 24, free, leadership focus on reimagining as we emerge from lockdown. https://t.co/iGG99y2hjV

@1moniqued @steven_kolber Well, back when I first joined Twitter (with a now extinct account, around 2007) I distinctly remember @Steve_Collis generously welcomed me into a very wide, global group of teachers and other educators (which immediately clarified the value of the platform).
