@Alan_Couzens Alan, thank you for the wonderful content. Apologies if this has already been covered but how do you factor in weighted hikes or rucks into your ton totals?
@Mark_Sisson That’s part of the story. Some evidence suggests amount and type of near work can also contribute as a result of spatial frequency disparity between indoor and outdoor environments. Advice remains the same, get kids off devices and outside.
@mrmathewbond Matt, agree that segmented rolling infrastructure in North Van is annoying and downright prohibitive in some cases but the illustration is a bit over the top. Feel like ROI of showing positives of flow capacity of continuous infrastructure is higher than this?
@BrentToderian Probably not unusual for your followers, but most days I watch people bike down Adanac St in Van and it gives me hope that more small changes (in this case making a slow street) can snowball into more joyous, human scaled neighbourhoods
@elonmusk Maybe implement some the space efficiency methods needed for Mars colonization to cities and towns on earth to improve density and mobility?? Consequently reduces the need for larger vehicles to transport larger families.
@CitImmCanada it's been 8 weeks since my PR status was approved, but still no PR card. The call centre message said it can't connect me to an agent. How do I resolve this?
@cityofcambridge please consider adding some safe pedestrian crossing infrastructure on water street so people can walk from downtown to the Paris rail trail. We have to sprint across the highway to avoid being hit by people going 80km/hr in a 50km/hr zone
@Mark_Sisson On runs I use the "can I look around and consciously identify flora and fauna that are around me?" usually correlates with 60% max heart rate. Talk test is an easy diagnostic as well
@MattOrMatte Well said. Would be a lot easier and cheaper in the long run to make areas more inviting to walk/bike than deciding the only way to achieve density is to stack people and cars on top of one another.
