This morning I, along with 50 of my House colleagues, sent the following letter to @JCHartzell commending him for his handling of the pro-Hamas protests on the @UTAustin campus. I also sent the letter to the 7 board members of @aaup_utAustin who are demanding that President Hartzell resign. Instead, we are recommending that they offer their resignation along with the 650+ faculty who have since signed on to their letter of no confidence in President Hartzell.

We have long-known that the cancer of socialism and leftist thought which has infected our society has been spread by academia - professors just like these. The Texas House is putting all state-funded university professors on notice: return to the original purpose of higher education or find another state to employ you. The People of Texas have lost our confidence in you. #txlege
