Husband of amazing woman, father of 6 boys, imperfect Christ-follower, businessman & state legislator in the best state in the most amazing country on earth.
Our second stop of the day, Rowlett, Texas! 🇺🇸
Thank you to Chair @AngieChenButton for welcoming the Speaker’s Strike Force to HD 112!
Great to be joined by Reps. @TerryWilsonTX, @RepJamesFrank, @ShelbySlawson, @FairlyForTexas, Keith Bell and @KatrinaPierson.
It's incredible to see so many of our Texas House members coming together to support one another and make a difference in these final weeks before Election Day! #OnePartyOneMission #SpeakersStrikeForce
As a young conservative staffer, I’ve always thought of progressive staffers as honorable opponents in the war of ideas, messaging, and political strategy. I’m learning they do not think of us the same way.
During an interview with @JTLonsdale, they discussed passage of the Death Star Bill and school choice, working with @RepJamesFrank on lowering health care costs, and ongoing efforts to make cities safer by holding rogue DAs like Jose Garza accountable.
@txlegejunkey@mcguinnessfortx Biden abdicated his role and the state had to step in. Even most border Ds agreed but never Talarico. He thinks we should have an open border.
Also, I won’t be responding to anonymous X accounts anymore. Be transparent or be ignored. #txlege
Hinojosa and Talarico both voted to keep a Texas income tax on the table. Abbott fought for and won a constitutional ban on income taxes.
Thankful that there are at least a couple of journalists that will call out Hinojosa on this.

Christians of the first century understood clearly that abortion was immoral. The Didache, a Christian ethics manual written between 50-100 AD, states, “You shall not murder a child by abortion nor kill them when born.” @FWdiocese@NTCatholic@TXCatholic@usccbprolife#TXLege
@txlegejunkey Yes. But it only required a simply majority to change.
Did Gina Hinojosa (and Talarico) vote AGAINST making it harder to add an income tax in Texas (moving it to 2/3’s of House and Senate).
Yes. They wanted to keep an income tax as a possibility in Texas.
#txlege
@pjakcoker_patty Hinojosa has publicly said we need to have income taxes as the “third leg of the stool” to make sure we have enough tax revenue.
She voted against making it harder to pass an income tax in Texas. Full stop.
#txlege
@pjakcoker_patty The prior ban allowed a simple majority of legislators to pass an income tax. The new ban requires 2/3 majority in both houses.
Hinojosa did not vote to make an income tax more difficult. Neither did Talarico.
Why run from their record? #txlege
NEW: @GinaHinojosaTX denies she voted in 2019 against the constitutional amendment to ban a state income tax in Texas. That contradicts legislative records.

America was formed by a civilization that has persisted for thousands of years and which must persist for thousands more.
It was the Civilization of Athens and Rome that transformed an infant seaboard republic into a continental empire.
Given how many ways traditional insurance hides rebates/kickbacks from employers, many employers are currently failing their fiduciary responsibility to their employees.
Ignorance is not a great excuse for letting your employees get ripped off.
#txlege#ContractualTerrorism
If you run a company, you now have a fiduciary/legal responsibility to make sure your healthcare benefits actually benefit your employees.
If not , you are legally liable.
You have to learn how it all works. You can’t ask a broker or consultant to figure it out for you. The responsibility stays with you and never goes to them. Even if they lie, steal and cheat you.
It’s all on you.
The House Select Committee on Governmental Oversight had a long and productive day yesterday, examining issues critical to local accountability, including the responsible use of Texans’ taxpayer money and prosecutorial integrity, as well as exploring the implications of adding certain New Mexico counties to Texas.
Thank you to Chairman @cvasut and members of the committee for their commitment to ensuring affordability and public safety for Texans. I’m grateful to everyone who took the time to share their experiences, perspectives and expertise with the committee.
Please see my full statement below. #txlege
Healthcare prices at least 2x what a rational market would cost.
Not controversial to fix, just a bunch of money arrayed against solutions.
#txlege#patientsfirst
What are your best ideas?
What’s broken that we could fix if smart people confronted it, but everybody is afraid that it’s too controversial?
These are great areas to consider for philanthropy or for-profit work!
Julia - It was a true pleasure working with you. Talented, smart, hard-working and mature beyond your years. Throw in the fact that your priorities are His priorities and you have the full package.
Thanks for your hard work and leadership in our office. #txlege
Special thanks to my wonderful (now former) boss @RepJamesFrank, whom it was such a privilege to work for. And thank you to @mayes_middleton and @chiproytx, who gave me my first opportunities in politics. I genuinely could not have asked for better members to work for!
There is more proof that Jesus existed than almost any other historical figure. Even secular historians don’t make this ignorant argument.
You don’t have to believe he is God (which clearly Talarico’s pastor doesn’t), but to say we don’t know whether Jesus existed - SMH

EXCLUSIVE: James Talarico’s Pastor Says Jesus Didn’t Die For Sins, Slanders Virgin Mary
“We have no way of knowing if Jesus really existed,” Rev. Babs Miller of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church says in NEW undercover video obtained by @realDailyWire.
The Texas Legislature has increased property tax exemptions for families and small businesses, but when local governments turn around and hike taxes to pay for non-essential expenditures, it undermines the progress we've made. And Texans are left with the burden.
On September 30, the House Select Committee on Governmental Oversight will take a close look at the misuse of taxpayer money at the local level and discuss ways to strengthen oversight, promote local fiscal responsibility and better protect Texans’ pocketbooks. #txlege
