@anjumsheh Better yet…resign!!!

[Steven Butler @StevenBButler]

@nancyayoussef Alas, they don’t love you like we do!!

[Steven Butler @StevenBButler]

@anjumsheh Is it more sickening than all the other stuff he is doing? We should expect and prepare for the worst.

[Steven Butler @StevenBButler]

@AASchapiro You mean…it doesn’t work?

[Steven Butler @StevenBButler]

@Yaqiu Unfortunately, not a steep learning curve.

[Steven Butler @StevenBButler]

@wstrobel @hannah_natanson @washingtonpost And a reminder that journalists everywhere need to take extraordinary measures to protect themselves and their sources.

Rob and Michelle Reiner were incredibly caring, warm-hearted, talented people. Here we are on the set of #shockandawemovie with Woody Harrelson, James Marsden and scriptwriter Joey Hartstone. RIP, Rob and Michelle. Thanks for all you gave us. @JonathanLanday @JohnWalcott20

Bogus convictions based on bogus charges based on a bogus law. The Hong Kong and Beijing authorities will face accountability for their cruelty towards Jimmy Lai — one of the bravest human beings of our time. I hope that day will come soon, and we together will bring it about.

[Steven Butler @StevenBButler]

@wstrobel I trust, @wstrobel , you will be the first to tell us why!

"Pakistanis need to stop blaming India for everything. We spent 60 years saying India is the enemy. But no country with a 7% growth rate wants war. But a country with a 2% growth rate like Pakistan can go to war because it has nothing to lose," said PAK journalist Ahmed Rashid

[Yaqiu Wang 王亚秋 @Yaqiu]

On NPR, I spoke about how Trump's coercion of law firms reminds me of CC's tactics of pressuring private businesses to fall in line with the party. While the CCP is far more repressive, the feeling of "I've seen it in my own country" still rings true. (See link below)

[Iris Hsu @IrisYNH]

I spoke with @Troublemak3r author @MarkLClifford, and I am so moved by his friendship with Jimmy Lai.
Mark understands why Lai chose to sacrifice his freedom for the principles he holds dear.

"Pakistan's economy has totally collapsed. I haven't had gas for 6 months in my house. There has been no investment in keeping the country running. Instead, Pakistan's army is building nuclear weapons faster than any country in the world," says PAK journalist Ahmed Rashid

🚨🚨#BREAKING: Another depressing start of the day for a helpless mother of journalist @Ahmad_Noorani, coming out of courtroom crying even after 28 days IG @ICT_Police conveniently get away with the abduction of her two sons from the court of #JusticeInaamAmeenMinhas.

Pakistan should stop disappearing journalists for reporting the news. What utterly shameful behavior!! @Matiullahjan919 should be freed. immediately. His work is important for the people of Pakistan.

[Usama Khilji @UsamaKhilji]

On his @NeoNewsUR show last night right before @Matiullahjan919 was disappeared, he had invited bureaucrat @RashdiSuleman who resigned yesterday in protest of state firing at PTI protestors, along with @saqibbashir156. Saqib Bashir was released shortly after #ReleaseMatiullahJan

[Steven Butler @StevenBButler]

@AaronBlake @mehdirhasan How is he worse than Trump?

[Steven Butler @StevenBButler]

@evefairbanks I’d have picked a lamppost.

[Naomi Zeveloff @NaomiZeveloff]

CPJ synthesized an entire year of research into this staggering by-the-numbers piece on the Israel-Gaza war. Main takeaway: 128 journalists killed, the vast majority Palestinians by Israel, in the deadliest conflict for the press we've ever recorded.
