@GrantMa25066011 People saying Cooper is going to win by double digits are dumb. People who say that NC is comparable to Montana or that the 2026 electorate is going to look like 2024ās are also dumb. My current prediction is Cooper +2.
They should be doing something similar in Maine, but I guess the blue stateās laws donāt allow for it this late.
Hey fellow Dems, doesnāt it suck when Republicans are doing democracy better than we are when it comes to replacing our Grahams?? https://t.co/sSdKtOhADQ
So SC GOP will have a snap special election to determine their new senate nominee, while ME Democrats will have a convention of about 600 people to choose their new senate nominee.
Can any of the big brains at the DNC explain to me how this doesnāt make the party look terrible?
Statement From Senator Mitch McConnell
WASHINGTON, D.C. ā U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell (R-KY) released the following note to constituents regarding his hospitalization and recovery:
āTo my fellow Kentuckians ā
āWhen you elected me to a seventh term and made me our Commonwealthās longest serving Senator, you did so trusting that Iād keep showing up to fight for you every day. And over the past several weeks, Elaine and I have appreciated both your well wishes and your honest questions about what was keeping me away from the Senate.
āYou all know how folks of my generation often hesitate to share the vulnerability that comes with growing older. Even in the public eye, I feel that same instinct ā I canāt help it.
āBut at the same time, Iāve had more than my share of experience with physical vulnerabilities. Surviving childhood polio meant spending my entire life with mobility challenges. They havenāt exactly gotten easier to manage with age. And last month, I took a fall which landed me in the hospital.
āMy doctors have confirmed that I didnāt break any bones or suffer a concussion. I didnāt have a heart attack or a stroke. I donāt have any tumors or hemorrhages. But I was briefly unconscious and was taken to the hospital. While receiving excellent care over the past several weeks, Iāve also had to deal with a mild case of pneumonia.
āI can assure you that Iāve been a good patient. At my age, I tend to do what my doctors tell me to do. Iāve submitted to every test they can think of to help figure out what caused this incident. And Iām continuing to do everything they ask to speed my recovery. In fact, with signs of continued progress, Iāve been able to move from hospital care to a rehabilitation center where Iāll keep regaining my strength.
āAs much as it frustrates me, this process takes time. And on the advice of my doctors, I wonāt be able to return to the Senate floor to vote quite yet. But rest assured that, in the meantime, Iām not taking a break from the Senate business that matters to you. Iāve been working closely with my legislative staff on current issues, and with my Kentucky team who help me provide timely constituent services across our Commonwealth. Iāve also been keeping in touch with my Senate colleagues on the appropriations process, midterm politics, and everything in between.
āYouāre right to expect your representatives to work hard for you. And part of my decision to retire at the end of my term this coming January was being honest about the demands of Senate work. But I still have unfinished business to complete on your behalf, and I have every intention of finishing the job you elected me to do.
āIāll keep working hard to get back on the Senate floor as soon as possible. And Iāll keep you posted on the progress of my recovery. Until then, Iām so grateful for your prayers and well wishes.ā

From the Office of the Attending Physician:
āSenator McConnell has experienced several falls throughout the year that have been attributed to his post-polio condition. He was admitted to the hospital four weeks ago after falling at home and sustaining minor injuries.
āA comprehensive evaluation by a multidisciplinary team determined that he had no fractures, cardiac abnormalities, stroke, tumor, or hemorrhage. Early in his hospitalization, he developed pneumonia, which responded rapidly to antibiotic treatment.
āThe remainder of his hospital stay focused on physical therapy and strategies to reduce his risk of future falls. He has been medically cleared to continue fully participating in his intensive physical therapy program.ā
This is what 200+ FIRED UP Mainers looks like! Honored to have these voters turn out with under 22 hours notice to hear more about our vision for Maine.
Weāre ready to beat Susan Collins. Letās do this!
@AezzieUwU@RefrmDemocracy Iāve never seen these āexcusesā If Ilhan Omar was anti-gay no way in hell would the left support her. Mamdani and AES take selfies at Pride.
Iām a Catholic who is personally pro-life, but I donāt think my religious view should be law. Iāve never felt unwelcome in the Dems.
While I agree that older members should retire, starting a brand new job at 78 is much different than continuing on in the one youāve had forever. Nuance people!
šØBREAKING: ICE agents were caught, on video, entering a U.S. citizenās home without a warrant, tackling the father to the ground, while pinning down his 15-year-old grandson.
As the family repeatedly told agents they were U.S. citizens, and demanded to see a warrant, the agents ignored them.
The daughter began recording and repeatedly asked to see a warrant, but they refused. She also told agents her father is diabetic, and that the teenager they were restraining was only 15 years old.
The agents continued to arrest both U.S. citizens from their home, without a warrant, eventually releasing the child but taking the father.
The Fourth Amendment prohibits government agents from entering a home without a judicial warrant.
If federal agents can force their way into a U.S. citizenās home, ignore repeated demands to produce a warrant, and use force without lawful authority, they arenāt just violating one familyās rights⦠theyāre undermining one of the core constitutional principles America was founded on.
A free country depends on the government being bound by the Constitution. If those limits can be ignored without consequences, we are no longer a free country.
@ZaidJilani Also Gillum didnāt spiral with drugs until after the election. They canāt really know about stuff that happened years later š¤·š¼āāļø
