The Minister for Home Affairs has no legal authority whatsoever to prohibit or permit meetings that are lawfully allowed under the law. Equally, it is not the mandate of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to issue permits or authorizations for meetings.

Internal meetings of political parties are regulated by the parties themselves, and the role of the Police is strictly limited to the provision of security and maintenance of public order nothing more.

The Tanganyika Law Society (TLS) has received these developments with profound shock and concern .

We shall convene urgently to determine appropriate legal measures, both domestically and internationally, against not only against this position but also against any individual or authority who will attempt to implement this unlawful and void directive, in blatant violation of the Constitution and the laws of the land.

Matukio ya Oktoba 29, 2025 yalikuwa mauaji ya kinyama, ya kifashisti na shambulio kubwa dhidi ya raia wengi wasio na hatia. Huu ni ukweli ambao historia itaendelea kuubeba, na hakuna propaganda wala upotoshaji unaoweza kuufuta.

Kinachosikitisha zaidi ni kwamba badala ya kutafakari kwa kina, kukubali makosa yaliyotokea na kutafuta njia ya haki ya kuponya taifa, baadhi yetu tunaendelea kuzunguka kwenye propaganda za kijinga na simulizi za kujidanganya.

Tuwaunge Mkono Shaheen na Wenzake wote wenye mapenzi mema na Taifa hili na wanaotaka uwajibikaji.

Njia pekee ya kulikwamua Taifa kutoka katika mkwamo huu si propaganda, si vitisho, wala si kuficha ukweli. Njia pekee ni HAKI, UKWELI na UWAJIBIKAJI.

Bila hayo, hakutakuwa na maridhiano ya kweli.

Again, I am not loud. Ni mpole tu. Yet I am deeply rooted in humanity, human rights, and justice-moving low-key, making a difference in much louder spaces. And when I gave my word that I would continue pushing for justice, I meant it.

The work continues. You saw a major development last week🇹🇿, and soon we shall have more updates. Yaani, si mnaona kinawaka? ⏰next week tunaongeza🙏

Now you see and hear the tone is shifting and the conversation is changing. The pressure for accountability is building.

For over 20 years, I have promoted Tanzania using my own time, my own resources, and yes-my own money. Yaani, serious resources. Just go back and do the research.

Long before it was popular to do charity work🇹🇿, I was speaking about HIV/AIDS and helping fight the stigma surrounding it. (Sijui ndiyo mnaita wanaharakati.) I used earnings from my modeling career then to support causes I believed in over two decades ago. I started an organization in Germany and later expanded the work to the United States-using my own resources, hoping others who care about humanity would join the journey.

I spent years promoting Tanzania internationally. Yaani 2023 nilikuwa Tanzania using $25,000 creating a documentary to highlight Tanzania positively (yes I have all the receipts and no one paid me) I have supported victims’ families-hundreds of them quietly, without publicizing names, but yes, I have receipts. I have supported democracy advocates and ordinary people who simply needed help. Sometimes that even meant paying for something as simple as communication tools so their voices could be heard. Hata blue ticks hapa X, yes, I paid for a few. Latest two days ago I sent funds…tena wengi walishamshau Akwilina, hembu msalimieni mama yake muulizeni salamu za kumsapoti za mwisho kutoka marekani? Tanzania government never cared, sadly.

Nobody paid me to promote Tanzania. Never…so, Nobody paid me to advocate for democracy or human rights either…mazuri ni Mungu anayabariki.

Nobody paid me to stand for human rights.

What confuses me is that some people have become so accustomed to a system where everything has a price that they struggle to understand that some people do good simply because it is the right thing to do. Jamani-fanyeni-the right thing.

These are the same people who think advocacy must be purchased because they cannot imagine serving humanity without expecting something in return. Even if that’s not for me currently -maybe some people yes are supported because their governments pushed them to asylum or where they’ll feel safe just for fighting for what right- then what’s wrong with that? Yaani hao wezi wa mailiasil ya taifa au wanaoipigana kufanya mema?

For me…not every act of service comes with a paycheck. But I support also those who will evolve for doing good so they can keep doing the good in environment that threaten them or don’t acknowledge their input in ways it will sustain their advocacy/contribution.

Not every voice is for sale.

Not every effort is sponsored.

Some of us are guided by conscience, faith, humanity, and a commitment to justice. I follow my deep Christian faith.

If someone pays, oh let me know please as I have plenty of receipts that could come in very handy toward my children’s college expenses. My children are working hard to earn their place in the world while their mother keeps spending money on humanity. Go figure. So sign me for refunds for humanity just so I can see some of my funds refunded for my kids sake or so I can support more causes even more.

Pathetic lies. What you said in Kiswahili was translated accurately in English. No distortion or misinformation. You are scared of your cheap bravado. A Murderous regime must be held accountable and that is not distortion. International human rights law accords zero defence to mass killings as it is against the concept of erga omnes that all nations must uphold.

When you kill your own people it is not permissible to claim sovereignty as you have breached the rights that you were supposed to defend. Consequently other countries are supposed to step in and hold you accountable. And that is the rest of the world, including the European Union and the United States of America, are doing against this murderous regime in Tanzania.

Public Service ethics demand honesty and accountability. It is, therefore, rather astonishing to issue such an extensive public statement without clearly identifying what was allegedly misrepresented, and in what manner the alleged distortion occurred.

From a diplomatic and governance perspective, such an approach merely perpetuates public disdain and undermines confidence.

If the remarks were made inadvertently or without due caution, it would have been more prudent and honourable to acknowledge that they were uttered informally, did not constitute part of the official position, and ought to be withdrawn rather than attributing the matter to so called “misrepresentation.”

Since when are Parliamentary debates clarified through backdoor narratives and informal corridors, when the proceedings themselves were broadcasted live before the nation?

Leaders desist from political manoeuvring aimed at concealing institutional failures merely to shield those responsible from accountability.

TRUTH, JUSTICE, AND ACCOUNTABILITY ARE THE ONLY FOUNDATIONS UPON WHICH THE NATION CAN HEAL.

TUACHE PROPAGANDA JUU YA UHAI WA WATANGANYIKA.

Hakuna Taifa linalotuonea wala kutuingilia mambo yetu ya ndani kinyume na Sheria za Kimataifa.

Yanayotupata leo yanatokana zaidi na ujinga wetu wenyewe, ukatili wetu wenyewe, na kushindwa kuwajibika kwa mujibu wa Sheria na Katiba ya nchi.

Tumeacha misingi ya utawala wa sheria na kujigeuza kuwa miungu watu wasioguswa na uwajibikaji.

Hatuwezi kuua, kutesa, kushambulia na kupoteza maelfu ya watu halafu tukajificha nyuma ya neno “sovereignty.” Huo siyo ulinzi wa mamlaka ya Taifa; huo ni upotoshaji wa dhana ya sovereignty chini ya Sheria za Kimataifa.

Kwa mujibu wa Katiba ya Umoja wa Mataifa (UN Charter), Mkataba wa Kimataifa wa Haki za Kiraia na Kisiasa (ICCPR), Azimio la Kimataifa la Haki za Binadamu (UDHR), Mkataba wa Afrika wa Haki za Binadamu na Watu (African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights), pamoja na kanuni ya Responsibility to Protect (R2P), Mataifa yana wajibu wa kulinda uhai, utu, uhuru na usalama wa wananchi wake.

Sovereignty katika sheria za kimataifa siyo leseni ya Serikali kufanya ukatili dhidi ya watu wake bila kuwajibishwa. Sovereignty ina mipaka ya kisheria na kiutu iliyowekwa na mikataba ya kimataifa, sheria za haki za binadamu, na wajibu wa Mataifa kulinda wananchi dhidi ya mauaji, mateso, upotezwaji wa watu na ukiukwaji mkubwa wa haki za binadamu.

Pale ambapo Taifa linashindwa au linakataa kulinda haki za msingi za wananchi wake, jumuiya ya kimataifa kupitia taasisi zake halali inaweza kuchukua hatua kwa mujibu wa sheria za kimataifa ili kuzuia ukiukwaji mkubwa wa haki za binadamu.

Ndiyo maana hatua mbalimbali zinazochukuliwa na baadhi ya Mataifa ya Ulaya, Marekani, na taasisi za kimataifa kuhusu maafa ya Oktoba 29 dhidi ya Watanganyika ikiwemo mauaji, upotezwaji wa watu, mateso, na vitendo vinavyokiuka misingi ya haki za binadamu zinaweza kuwa na msingi ndani ya mfumo wa sheria za kimataifa na wajibu wa kimataifa wa kulinda utu wa binadamu.

Tusipokuwa tayari kujiwajibisha wenyewe, tutajikuta tunawajibishwa na jumuiya ya kimataifa.

Ukweli, Haki, Utawala wa Sheria na Uwajibikaji ndiyo msingi pekee wa kulinasua Taifa letu kutoka katika mkwamo huu.
