@rodeojuly The framing of this experiment is incorrect. The AI in question is not the man in the room, but the rulebook itself. The man doesn’t speak Chinese, but the rulebook, if sophisticated enough, arguably might.
@Unexplained2020 Weinstein is a hammer to which everything looks like a nail. Everything boils down to a need to understand mysteries of undiscovered physics because that’s his career.
He can’t accept that current physics might suffice, and achieving practicality is more an economics puzzle.
