"Tiami Networks is developing a contactless physiological monitoring capability under a grant funded by the U.S. Department of War. The system uses millimeter-wave RF sensing at 27.6 GHz to remotely detect subtle body-surface displacements caused by cardiac and respiratory activity, from which heart rate and respiratory rate are estimated, with blood pressure estimation under development as an extension of the same sensing approach. Because the technique depends on transmitting a signal toward a human subject and analyzing the reflected return, it cannot be validated through conducted (cable-only) bench testing alone; over-the-air operation with a live subject at an operationally realistic standoff distance is required to develop and demonstrate the capability. Authorization is requested to support a short capability demonstration at the IEEE Military Communications Conference (MILCOM) at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel & Conference Center, Rockville, Maryland, where the system will be exhibited to the defense communications community consistent with the sponsoring agencys technology-demonstration and stakeholder-engagement objectives for the grant."

"T-Mobile License LLC requests an experimental authorization for a period of two years – from November 1, 2026, to October 31, 2028 – so that its affiliate, T-Mobile USA, Inc. (“T-Mobile”), may conduct limited experimental testing in the 4800-4900 MHz (“4.8 GHz”) band at six sites in and around T-Mobile’s headquarters in Bellevue, Washington." "The purpose of the testing is to evaluate the capabilities of experimental prototype wireless base stations and user equipment operating in the 4.8 GHz band under real-world conditions. The testing will allow T-Mobile to contribute to advancements in areas such as band segmentation, beamforming technologies, and other advanced and emerging radio technologies."

"Carnegie Mellon University (“CMU”) requests 180-day Special Temporary Authority (“STA”) to conduct experiments with radar devices installed on uncrewed aircraft systems (“UAS”) beginning October 9, 2026. CMU plans to study the feasibility of using drones to help first responders locate casualties in the aftermath of a natural disaster. These experiments are part of the DARPA Triage challenge. CMU will test the radar’s ability to conduct airborne casualty localization, heart rate and breathing rate estimation, and find casualties through walls/debris. The radar to be used in this experiment does not yet have FCC equipment authorization, which is why CMU is applying for an STA."
