I understand the isolationist impulses from people on my feed saying "Ukraine is not our war, not our problem." But a Putin victory in Ukraine would threaten our NATO allies & embolden future wars of annexation. As we learned bitterly in WWII, eventually those would threaten us.
My lukewarm take: the U.S. just made a serious long-term investment in Ukraine just to get Germany (and other European nations) to prepare for the immediate future. In a sense, this is the best outcome Kyiv can have hoped for. All my Ukrainian sources are ecstatic this evening.
