@DizzyJB@pjacobstipster@racingoncourse The attitude that Good is too quick (see several small fields at meetings in the last couple of weeks) or Heavy is too soft (see Ayr last week or parts of winter) means that participants are backing themselves into a self-destructive corner.
A lot of racing “fans” seem to be just going down a cul de sac of getting jumps racing banned all by themselves:
“Good to firm in places ground isn’t fit for jump racing” . It is. You’d have had an aneurism at the 1997 Festival.
“Horses should have an arbitrary retirement date”
“Edwardstone should be retired after winning grade 1”

@jamesaknight The idea that info about barrier trials held in public on an actual racecourse should not be available to the betting public sums up a lot of what ails British racing nowadays.
