@DanNeidle Capital isn’t the same as salary.
It’s already-taxed money put at risk to build businesses, fund growth and create jobs. Start taxing gains like income and you reduce the incentive to invest and take risks in the first place.
@mikecradd@paulmasonnews Tesco’s profit is massive volume, not a ripoff. They make £73B in sales on a tiny 4% margin—just 4p of profit per £1 spent. Cut prices by 5% and they’d instantly go bankrupt. It’s thin margins at a colossal scale.
@IanBeckett50@afneil Hardly character assassination..just another Labour figure telling people whatever they think the electorate wants to hear at that moment. No conviction, no consistency… just another career politician putting ambition before principle.
@DPJHodges Nobody expects him to pretend he was a Brexiteer. The problem is senior politicians still sounding bitter about a democratic result nearly a decade later instead of just getting on with making the country work. Opening a new fight with Europe helps nobody.
@JohnRentoul@darrenpjones Truly laughabe. Imagine running a private company like this… every department gets its own “delivery unit”, every executive gets another advisor, and then another central team to oversee the people overseeing the delivery teams. Pass the buck government!
