Standing ovation at Celtic Manir as Sol Bamba awarded honorary Pro Licence from the Football Association of Wales. Honour collected by his wife Chloe and son.
@roathboy I agree with you. “Out of my control” could easily mean “they didn’t give me the 3 year contract i deserved.”
Vital we get recruitment right in that position now. We saw how shapeless we were when Wintle wasn’t playing last year.
@16bitnostalgia@OblivionCalls Same, May 2006 after my exams at uni! I wonder if any of them have aged well.. still have my PS3 at my folks house gathering dust
@TonyRivers1927 You’d like to think so… but they’ve got form with some whoppers. Most recently, keeping Riza until the final 3 games, because he flew to Malaysia and cupped Vinny’s balls
@TonyRivers1927 Absolutely, and I don’t think they would get as lucky by accidentally stumbling into success with their third choice candidate next time
@roathboy@Savigma The question, of course, is if he’s seduced by someone higher up the food chain. That’s the only thing I suspect would stop this from happening
@roathboy@Savigma Factoring in the very reasonable fee, almost certain re-sale value, and the guaranteed fit he would be (all new signings aren’t certainties, despite how good on paper), I think it would be a no brainer to get done as a permanent, even if it means a loan/free transfer elsewhere
I recorded this for my colleagues in South Wales and I wouldn’t normally share an opposition manager on here. But I was struck by what he had to say about the youth academy. Brian Barry-Murphy is obviously an excellent coach but he based the team around the academy: #readingfc
