The 2026 issue of Marigold Magazine @marigold.voice is here. Launched at Her Voice just last Saturday, this special edition brings together stories of courage, resilience, creativity, leadership, and action — celebrating Ukrainian women who are making a difference in Ukraine and around the world.
This year’s issue features eight extraordinary women whose work is helping shape Ukraine’s present and future:
🌻 @avalaina — Nobel Peace Prize laureate and human rights leader fighting for justice and accountability.
🌻 @marichkahlyten — advocate and activist amplifying Ukraine’s voice through civic engagement and advocacy.
🌻 @KaterynaLis — journalist dedicated to sharing the truth and combating disinformation.
🌻 Olga Samofalova — PR leader using media and cultural diplomacy to strengthen global support for Ukraine.
🌻 Krystyna Sanina — veteran and amputee whose story embodies resilience, courage, and hope.
🌻 Margaryta Suvorova — frontline combat medic saving lives under some of the most difficult conditions of war.
🌻 Yuliya Murashko — humanitarian leader helping Ukrainians today while building for Ukraine’s future.
🌻 Mariia Dusheiko — fashion designer using creativity and culture to inspire and connect communities.
Different journeys. Different professions. One shared belief: that every action matters.
When you purchase a copy of Marigold Magazine — or complete your collection with all three issues — you are doing more than supporting independent storytelling and the voices of remarkable Ukrainian women.
You are helping children and families affected by the war in Ukraine.
All proceeds support United Help Ukraine’s SMUHA Family Resilience Project, which has already provided psychological support, resilience programming, and safe spaces for more than 27,000 children and family members across Ukraine.

The 1st photo broke my heart 3 years ago. This dog’s just rescued from the water, after Russians blew up the Kakhovka Hydroelectric power plant on June 6, 2023. I can still hear the excruciating crying as people watched the water coming to their own doors. 80 settlements were
One photo, several myths destroyed.
Ukrainians do not all look alike.
We do not all come from the same background.
We do not all speak the same way.
And yes we manage to be one nation. 🇺🇦
“Now I understand what my ancestors felt. The pain of losing home, and the helplessness of watching others decide the fate of your homeland.”
Crimean Tatar activist Lia Gazi @qirimlia on how russia is changing the population of occupied Crimea.
Over a million russians have moved there since 2014.
The face of a person who slept right through Russian attack on Kyiv region and terrorist act in a postal terminal . I realised something happened only because I got the ‘are you ok?’ text too early in the morning for it to be anything else than the one you get after
Applebaum: Democracies usually do not fall now through coups or military takeovers.
They fall when legitimately elected leaders who do not respect institutions take them apart. Would Trump do that if he could? Yes, I think he would. 4/
Happy Friday, dear friends! 🌸
What’s happening in russia today:
- good drones strike their military facilities thousands of kilometers from the front.
- unprecedented fuel shortages hit 14 Russian regions.
- record low gains and high casualties on the battlefield.
Meanwhile, it’s peony season here in Ukraine! 🥰✌️
‼️FITZPATRICK (R): Ukrainians have pioneered technologies that are changing warfare itself, from advanced drone operations to battlefield innovation that militaries around the world are now studying.
“This vote transcends politics. This vote is about freedom. Just days ago, Russia launched over 650 drones and 73 missiles at Ukrainian cities. Families were murdered in their homes. Children, once again, were forced into shelters. And once again, Vladimir Putin showed the world that he has no interest in peace. He is only interested in terror. Five years into this illegal war, the Ukrainian people are defending their country against Russia's brutal aggression. And against all odds, they have transformed and modernized their military into one of the strongest and most capable fighting forces in Europe. They have pioneered technologies that are changing warfare itself, from advanced drone operations to battlefield innovation that militaries around the world are now studying. Mr. Speaker, I've stood shoulder to shoulder with Ukrainian soldiers on the front lines during this conflict. I have heard the artillery fire. I've watched young men and women defend their country with extraordinary courage. They remind me of another generation of fighters, the Americans who defended democracy abroad during World War II, our greatest generation. They are fighting for their freedom. They are fighting for democracy, and they are fighting for global peace and global security. Mr. Speaker, the Ukrainian people are not asking for Americans to fight this war. They are asking for the tools to defend themselves and for the partnership of a nation that has always stood for liberty. The Ukraine Support Act strengthens Ukraine's ability to protect civilians, extends Lend-Lease authority, provides critical military assistance, sanctions Russia's war machine, its shadow fleet, and those responsible for kidnapping innocent Ukrainian children by the tens of thousands. And it makes clear that aggression on this planet has consequences. We must send a clear message, not only to Russia, but to every dictator watching us tonight around the world. America will not stand by while free nations are attacked. Mr. Speaker, I yield back” - @RepBrianFitz on Thursday, June 4th, 2026.
Rep. Keating to Rubio: "I'm sure you're aware that Ukraine, country that at the time had third-largest nuclear arsenal, peacefully turned over their nuclear weapons in conjunction with Budapest Memorandum.
And in exchange for U.S. commitment to defend Ukraine if it ever came under threat. The U.S. gave its word to Ukraine that it would defend them.
And I find this amazing. In your opening remarks, as you took us all over the world and mentioned 15 different incidents where you have interceded — 15, the top 15 — not once did you mention Ukraine when you were prioritizing achievements that are there."
@KaterynaLis@Reuters You’re right. Presenting in that way where people start to forget who the aggressor is and pretty soon can’t tell right from wrong.

It is critical that American media do not become another weapon in Russia’s arsenal against Ukraine.
There are only a few things we can predict right now: Moscow will continue escalating its missile attacks as long as Ukraine lacks sufficient anti-ballistic defense capabilities, and it will use every propaganda tool at its disposal to justify them.
I had many questions about recent U.S. media coverage of Russia’s strikes on Ukraine, so I put my thoughts into an article for the Kyiv Independent.
Please read, share your thoughts in the comments, and share it with your followers👇🙏

💔 Surreal.
Morning in Kyiv after a horrific night.
Birds singing. Sunrise over the city. Black smoke hanging in the air after another ruthless Russian attack.
A beautiful city waking up to the aftermath of terror.
