For many years of his career Stevie Ray Vaughan struggled with drug and alcohol addiction. In the fall of 1986 Stevie's addiction became so bad that he was met with the crossroads of life or death.
He had been hospitalized twice within a span of a few days and his health was rapidly declining. He chose to save himself and entered rehab, successfully completing the program in November, 1986.
At the time of his death in 1990, Stevie was almost four years sober when he tragically lost his life ina helicopter crash.
