It is actually starting to cool, thank The Lord, and the nights are starting to arrive just a bit earlier. Soon that superior season will be upon us. Autumn.

This reminds me of story from a few autumns past when Rascal had to deal with some ne'er-do-wells raising Cain late one night at the shop.

When I got there I found the creature dressed in his best 1800's sleepwear and holding a .45 revolver.

"You take the light, i'll lead the way." was all the talk he would allow.

He handed me the Humming Meadow Silo Taper Hurricane and deeper into the dark warehouse we went. Given that this was years before Humming Meadow was stocking these I have no clue how he came by it. No, I did not bother to ask.

How that evening unfolded is a story, perhaps, for another time. For now I will thank @SummRidge for always supporting us and will say that this week's fun is a Taylor's and Co. Remington Conversion .45colt revolver paired with a lovely Humming Meadow Silo Taper Hurricane Candle holder (will be throwing in a candle too!)

My dear friends, it is with great pleasure that Harvey, Rascal, and myself (with the ever present support of @SummRidge , of course) bring you our first BIG COZY CONTEST!

My most beloved season is Autumn, then Winter, Spring, & Summer. In that order. SO, when Ken suggested to our venerable X wholesome poster, @OldHollowTree , that he sweeten up one of our giveaways, and the good man buzzed at the opportunity, deciding to offer up a Humming Meadow mug, I got excited and decided to try and rope in a bunch of wholesome Americana to help us get through this last bit of summer heat and look towards autumn.

With great generosity of spirit we, all of us, considered breaking the prizes up and, perhaps, next time, we will. However, they all compliment each other so very well that I simply cannot do it.

Well..
I found The Rascal.
Straight Chillin'.

Goober sat there enjoying his music, for a long while. I just stood there, pretended to be unimpressed with what he had done to the library, and waited for his dramatic pause to conclude. After a while he just grinned and handed me this Canik Prime Radian in 9mm and grey finish.

"They'll dig this", is all he said.

I left him vibing and got right to posting.

My friends.
I am really, very nearly, at a loss for words and
I know you all know how rare that is.
It is with great concern and, dare I say, support, that Rascal has announced that he.. I mean er.. she.. will be finally fulfilling hi.. her dreams of pursuing a career in the WNBA.

He. er.. She was inspired, evidently, by the recent stunning and brace announcement from @Highway_30 who is one of the more recent folx to stand up for the oppressed across, not just the WNBA, but the world.

As I am sure you all know it is dangerous for ladies sometimes after late nights of practice. While Rascal dreams of making the cut with the Indiana Fever, we don't all have @sophaller watching our backs. So for those walks from the court to the car which can be downright deadly, even for women who are 6'2" and have a BMI of 25.3 and shocking upper body strength compared to hi... her teammates, we have something for you.

So that you can stay classy and armed, like Rasquelia (that is going to take some getting used to), we are offering today a Smith & Wesson 642 Engraved Ladysmith chambered in .38special!

There is so much that could be said about this week's giveaway.

I will simply hit the main points:

A man, Jordan Salinas, who seems to dig Splinter Cell went from live action role play to live action and likely saved many lives in Twin Falls, Idaho at the @innoutburger in doing so.

We celebrate that in today's litigious culture this man chose to risk his life and his liberty by doing the righteous thing. He held to his convictions by going armed and by running towards the direction of gunfire, of imminent danger. Reports are that he rendered medical aid after the gunfire ceased, as well.

In honor of this man and that masculine sacrificial heroic American spirit that runs, not away from conflict, but that fights for the opportunity to get between evil and goodness, and effectively, Rascal is proud to do a little LARPing himself.

Sorry friends, crazy couple of days. @TheRascallion apparently was called into some super secret meeting about how/if/when aliens become a problem! Question presented was about firepower and what we should have on hand. Word is many suggestions were bandied about but everyone gave a unanimous "Heck yeah dad gummit!" when Rascal suggested a Benelli M4 12ga must be part of the arsenal.

Rascal would neither confirm nor deny that @timburchett was there but I gotta feeling...

As always @SummRidge is helping Rascal make this happen this week so be sure to give them their share of sugar!

That ol' Rascal. He really got himself into something deep this time. A lofty motivating thing for sure, and that'd be the Word of God. That goodly critter spent a some time with @WarPath2pt0 and his Iron Counsel and they've been in Matthew and Luke meditatin' on lost sheep. That got Rascal thinking there might be a shepherd out there in need of a new piece to keep back the wolves and he has made his decision.
