Ningaloo’s northern reefs are bleaching with some corals already dying.🪸💔 Even ancient Porites, centuries old, are ghostly white. But south & outer reef corals fight on. 🤞 Hoping for cooler waters & recovery. 🌊🙏

This is Acropora tenuis in Exmouth Gulf, a renowned hotspot for resilient corals. Tenuis normally has a glorious pink-orange colouration. The white (bleached) branches are thousands of polyps starving & struggling to stay alive, the brown branches are dead, covered in sediment.
