Recently commissioned @sheernatattack for this radical piece of the set I use for Legion in @DeadByBHVR ! Be sure to check her out when you get the chance.
"Such a placid expression, unsettling in the emotion it lacks." #DeadbyDaylight
@Jazzy81826524@enidzilla Horror sequels are almost universally awful as well, Terrifier is a callback to the era of mindless horror sequels and that is exactly why I don't like it.
@Jazzy81826524@enidzilla The executions gave it a lot of notoriety, but I think Manhunt is a much smarter game than people give it credit for. It allows the player to be the monster it depicts or treats the violence as a disturbing means to an end, but in both avenues it forces you to participate.
@PTLemonade@PixelBushYT I'm not even talking about those, my favorite era of horror is the 70s. But Terrifier is a return to the mid-late 80s with the glut of horror sequels that sacrificed meaning and storytelling for gratuitous violence and occasional nudity (think Friday 5).
@Jazzy81826524@enidzilla You may have a morbid curiosity towards the manhunt executions, but the point of the game is that you are being taken advantage of and controlled by an entity that is forcing you to do heinous things, and the player is forced to become that as well. Terrifier is just violence.
@SNOSwriter@enidzilla Hostel (and Eli Roth as a whole) are also terrible and the first SAW is not particularly violent at all and also the only genuinely good movie in the series that isn't just a fun trainwreck to look at.
@Jazzy81826524@enidzilla Huge fan of Manhunt who despises Terrifier here. It's all about purpose in the violence for me, Terrifier is a series where the entertainment is 100% gore with nothing else. Manhunt uses extreme violence (in the player's hands) to make said player feel complicit and disgusting.
