Finished my first week back at work. It was only 20 hours but my head is so tired.
GP review on Monday to see if I'm stable enough to start bossing full time hours again.
I have coped.
So that is what that is.
Managed to get 7 patients seen and a lot of admin done with only one additional hour of unpaid work time
Then tried to drive home but ended up being the first responder to a car crash on the A3, nursing shifts never really finish
I've got seven patients on my list to see in four hours. No travelling time. I know at least two of these will take at least an hour.
This, ladies and gentlemen, is what we call task-based care, which is known to cause mental distress in nurses.
FAN. TASTIC.
So yesterday my biggest cry happened on the way to work when I saw six different types of goose grazing in a field together.
Just so beautiful to see all the geese getting along, no matter what breed or colour.
So special.
Okay gang, so I'm back to work today after 8 weeks off.
Me: It's fine. Everything will be fine.
Brain: you're do so well coping these days!
Me: thanks brain, that really mea-
Brain: HAVE SOME MORE ANXIETY ABOUT NOTHING IN PARTICULAR
Me: ππ
@KieranHD The problem is that when your adrenaline is pumping, all of this becomes double time.
Do not dive into CPR, ensure help is on the way, take a deep breath, steady your hands and THEN give them hell.
Delaying 1min is of less risk than 1min of shite compressions.
So I've just planned a return to work with my GP and I've no doubt my managers will be happy to support the plan.
Apart from the lack of omelette making, I'm like 55% a person again!
I've been having a series of super weird nightmares thanks to some new meds, I'll update here with all the crazy shit my mind thinks of when I'm not in control of it...
