@randomlysamm@scaling01 To get to that point, we'd have to agree what it "actually is" in the first place. AGI as a term only exists because people needed a new term once things started getting marketed as "AI" in the early 2000s. ASI is the same thing now that every new model is called AGI.
I only get two equipment slots for socks, and I'm supposed to wear identical socks on both feet? I'm sorry, do you leave the house today wearing a ring of mind shielding and another ring of mind shielding?
@nmuk@Da7_Tech The Claude Code desktop application software leaked back in March. Basically the source code for the file manager and editor interface. Idiots argue that "Claude isn't AI because it leaked and it was just loops and if statements" but that's the code for the chat interface.
@jpFromTlon@TheZvi Meanwhile, there is no number of rocket scientists who can launch a space probe to the moons of Jupiter unless some of those "average 90 IQ construction workers" build them a launch pad to do it from.
@JamesODon@samlereyeee That's what it is in France, or in bakeries trying too hard elsewhere. It's croissant dough wrapped around chocolate. A chocolate croissant. Much more descriptive and widely understood than the French phrase for "chocolate bread".
@deedydas Meanwhile, non-enterprise users are left out. I had Fable refactor 3 classes in a codebase into one modular setup with dependency injection, and it chewed through the $20 I gave it and didn't finish. Would have taken hours by hand, so it is technically cost effective, but still.
@DavidLeavitt That would be terrible. Good thing that's not what is happening and it's just influencers freaking out over an optional bonus content subscription.
@dlendman2 If you think that intelligence is special, rare, or difficult, then you probably don't know that there is a computer science definition for intelligence, and it has nothing to do with "consciousness", "awareness", or "sentience".
