@ScottyBeamIO grok gonna change all of us

[Stingy @Stiingy7]

it's fucking insane

apple is expected to drop the new imac with the m6 chip on october 28 and almost nobody knows what actually happens inside that thin screen when you click something

so i made claude break it down. full 3d, step by step, every number from one model, with sound

the screen is only 11.5 mm thick. the whole computer (chip, memory, fans, speakers) hides in that colored strip under it

one 2 nm chip does everything:
→ 12 cpu cores: 2 super, 4 performance, 6 efficiency
→ 12 gpu cores
→ two 16-core neural engines

and here's the smart part: every job goes to the smallest part that can handle it

→ typing an email? 6 efficiency cores at 2.9 ghz. fans stay quiet
→ exporting a video? the 2 super cores wake up at 4.8 ghz. in one tick of that clock light travels just 6.2 cm
→ playing a 3d game? the gpu fills the 4.5k screen 60 times a second. that's 677 million pixels every second
→ cutting a person out of a photo? the neural engines take it

and they all read the same memory at up to 170 gb/s. nothing gets copied. it could scan all 16 gb in 94 ms

inside, billions of 2 nm transistors where the gate wraps all the way around the channel, so less current leaks

then 11.3 million pixels hit your eyes at 218 per inch, using just 1.6% of what the memory can move

one chip, every kind of brain, one shared memory. that's why it stays cool and quiet

a year ago you'd need a motion designer, a 3d artist and weeks in after effects for this

now it's one claude subscription and an evening

i wrote the full guide on how to make animations like this yourself, it's in the quoted post below

@Solomonrojie looks like great cheat code for grok

[Stingy @Stiingy7]

@Wombaflow grok looks like money printer for one who knows

[Stingy @Stiingy7]

@hammertime_one i'll definetely add some of them

[Stingy @Stiingy7]

@monokern @reagent_rwa grok is going wild

[Stingy @Stiingy7]

@envromaine The real edge is the 30 year handshake with the only fab that can actually ship at volume everything else is easier to copy.

[Stingy @Stiingy7]

@Tetriss112 i'd build it

[Stingy @Stiingy7]

this is completely f*cking wild

i asked claude how starlink actually works. it built the whole network in 3D

your dish, 1,584 satellites circling earth, a gateway, lasers in space, and every number comes from a real orbit model it wrote first

here's what blew my mind

your dish has NO motor. it's a flat panel with 1,280 tiny antennas. each one fires a hair later than its neighbour, the waves stack up in one direction, and that's the beam

change the timing → the beam moves. nothing physically turns

meanwhile the satellites are 480 km up doing 27,460 km/h. each one is over your house for ~4 minutes

so every 15 seconds the network hands your dish to a different satellite. the beam just jumps

then you click a link:

dish → satellite: 521 km, 1.7 ms
satellite → gateway: 946 km, 3.2 ms
round trip: 9.8 ms of pure light travel

no gateway nearby? satellites throw your data to each other with LASERS

light in vacuum is 47% faster than in fiber. 3,200 km in 11.5 ms instead of 15.7

and the part that explains everything

old TV satellites sit 35,786 km up. light alone needs 508 ms for a round trip there

starlink is 73× closer. that's the whole trick

close = fast. but close also means one satellite only sees you for minutes, so you need thousands of them, swapping every 15 seconds

@elonmusk built a network that reroutes itself every 15 seconds at 27,000 km/h

no blender. no after effects. no motion designer

just claude and one question

[Stingy @Stiingy7]

@murrtlen i need to use this strategy in future

[Stingy @Stiingy7]

@0xGoldTooth this shit is pretty scaring, now i'll know how to protect myself

[Stingy @Stiingy7]

this is getting stupid

i asked claude how a falcon 9 actually gets to orbit. it built me the whole launch in 3D

fueling, ignition, max-Q, stage separation, the nose cone splitting open, the booster flying back and landing on a droneship. all of it

and every number comes from a real flight model claude wrote first: 9 merlin engines, 7,607 kN of thrust, 563 tonnes on the pad

here’s the part that broke my brain

at liftoff the rocket only pushes 1.38× its own weight. that’s why it looks so slow leaving the pad

a minute in, the air pushes so hard (30.8 kPa) that the engines throttle down to 62% so the rocket doesn’t crush itself

at T+2:32 all 9 engines cut, air pistons push the stages apart, and the second stage lights its single engine

then the booster turns around and falls from 147 km. 3 engines fire straight into the wind to slow it from 7,420 to 2,730 km/h

and the landing is pure insanity

even ONE engine at its lowest setting pushes 1.22× more than the empty booster weighs. it physically can’t hover

so it has to hit zero speed at the exact moment it touches the deck. one shot. 576 km out at sea

meanwhile stage 2 is doing 26,700 km/h, 246 km up, and it’s in orbit

there’s a cutaway window inside the merlin engine the whole time: turbopump, gas generator, LOX and kerosene flowing in. plus a live flight path map and sound synced to the thrust

no blender. no after effects. no motion designer

just claude and one question
