As is typical of Nigeria’s security agencies, once you don’t arrive surrounded by a convoy of expensive automobiles and heavily armed escorts, they assume you are nobody.
Today, I arrived at the National Peace Committee’s Peace Accord signing event, only to be blocked at the gate by @OfficialDSSNG operatives. One of them demanded to see my invitation letter, even though he later admitted that he knew I was a presidential candidate.
While this was going on, another presidential candidate swept in with his long convoy and was ushered through without any of this harassment.
Then came another condition: I would not be allowed in with my staff. After that, they said my camera crew would not be allowed in either.
I refused to accept this discriminatory treatment.
If this is supposed to be a “Peace Accord” involving presidential candidates, then every candidate must be treated with equal dignity and respect.
Not according to the size of their convoy, the number of security vehicles around them, or how much privilege they display.
I insisted on my rights and made it clear that I would not succumb to discriminatory conduct.
This culture of intimidation, class discrimination, and arbitrary treatment by Nigeria’s security agencies must end.
YES, WE ARE THE ONES STANDING UP TO PROTECT OUR COUNTRY. We are the ones beaten, tear-gassed, arrested, abducted, and brutalized by the police, DSS, and other lawless security agencies of the Nigerian government.
Nigeria’s rulers are heartless. They want to be celebrated and feted for failing the people, while those who stand up for the oppressed are attacked.
But we will keep fighting until we WIN!
Yes, @davido is right on the money HERE. WATCH UNTIL YOU SEE US MARCHING FOR THE KIDNAPPED KIDS! #RevolutionNow
I have warned repeatedly that Lagos risks going under water. I once said that, before long, anyone who is not a scuba diver may find it difficult to live in Lagos.
Lagos is badly planned and badly managed by the same man now mismanaging Nigeria. Instead of investing in proper drainage and flood-control infrastructure, the land-grabbing elite have continued reclaiming marshlands, wetlands, lagoons, and the sea for profit. The consequences are now obvious.
Only weeks ago, I vehemently rejected the reintroduction of environmental sanitation by the blind bats running Lagos on Tinubu’s behalf. Today, garbage is everywhere, drainage channels are clogged, and the flooding being experienced across the state has been made worse by this failure.
They have looted Lagos blind. Their obsession is grabbing more land, often from the poor, rather than building a livable city. The disastrous results are now before us all.

Monday must not pass in vain.
Let freedom ring from every corner of Nigeria. Let the voices of the people be heard in every town, city, village, street, and public square.
History shows that no nation has ever been transformed by silence. The time has come for Nigerians to stand up courageously and resolutely in defense of their future.
Let freedom ring. Let justice prevail. Let the people speak.

They're suddenly freeing kidnapped victims because we DID #OccupyAsoRock.
For months, the authorities offered excuses while families suffered in agony. But when citizens organized, spoke out, and demanded action, the pressure became impossible to ignore.
NIGERIA HAS BECOME A JUNGLE, AND OUR EXISTENCE IS NOW BEING TREATED AS “WILDLIFE.”
So, naturally, we are told to rely on “forest guards” for protection.
A nation of over 200 million people cannot be governed as if survival is a wilderness adventure.
Jokers are leading you all down a perilous path.

Today, we are once again witnessing the reckless abuse of @policenh powers against social media users in Nigeria.
What is even more disturbing is how some Nigerian celebrities now appear more eager than politicians and security agencies to throw largely poor young Nigerians into prison under the guise of “cybercrime,” simply because of internet banter or comments they dislike.
I have read reports about singers like @Simi and @AdekunleGold allegedly using the police against critics online, and now similar allegations involving @ayrastarr and others keep surfacing.
Meanwhile, these same celebrities sit comfortably among international stars abroad demanding respect and award for creative freedom and artistic expression, yet many of those global celebrities would never (and functioning systems) won’t let them weaponize the police, corrupt prosecutors, or compromised court judges against ordinary citizens over free speech or online commentary.
This growing culture of criminalizing speech, jokes, criticism, trolling, and online banter is dangerous to democracy and fundamentally incompatible with freedom of expression.
The real shame belongs to the irresponsible Nigeria Police Force @PoliceNG and sections of the justice system that continue enabling these abuses instead of protecting citizens’ rights.
The police must stop acting as private enforcers for the rich, connected and powerful. Nigerians cannot continue to be shipped to prison because influential people are offended online.
