My view:

Trump chose to insult Norway. Visit Norway answered with humour, confidence and a showcase of its most beautiful loos.

That’s how you turn an insult into an invitation. Congratulations to Norway for responding with such grace - and giving us another reason to visit.

I've never been to Norway, but this is just another reason to visit 😁

Three years after Russia launched its offensive at Avdiivka, its Donbas campaign is still grinding on. But the pace has changed. Russian forces gained ground in 2024 and 2025; in 2026, their advance has slowed sharply, while Ukrainian counterattacks have hit them at Komar and Lyman.

THE FIGHT MOVES NORTH

Moscow’s pressure began on the southern and western approaches. The main battle is now near Dobropillya, along the chain running from Kurakhove through Pokrovsk toward Barvinkove, behind Ukraine’s Donbas fortress belt. This is still a dangerous front, not a frozen one. But Russia has not turned years of assaults into a decisive breach.

THE SOUTHERN APPROACHES

The Russian push along the Donetsk-Zaporizhzhia highway has stopped. Farther south, it has slowed. Ukraine’s earlier setbacks exposed failures in coordination and fortification, compounded by Russia’s manpower advantage. Those weaknesses have since been addressed. The Kremlin keeps spending men on this offensive, yet its territorial returns are getting smaller, not larger.
