Our final #organelle is the #cytoplasm! This is often described as the space inside the #cell, but don't be fooled by it's simple appearance! The cytoplasm is actually jam packed full of stuff and is more like a soup than an empty space! 🍜 1/4
There are also lots of other #organelles and #molecules squished in that we haven't even mentioned yet!
To give you an idea, the second picture shows artist #davidgoodsell 's impression of a #cytoplasm FULL of molecules! 3/4
We're back with the last two #organelles from our #crochetcell!
This purple #organelle is the #plasmamembrane, and it has the very important job of being the 'wall' that separates the inside of the #cell from the outside world 🧱 1/5
In the second picture you can see that the #plasmamembrane is made of two layers of #lipids, with the heads on the outside and the tails on the inside 🔵♒♒🔵 this forms a barrier to help keep the inside in and the outside out! 4/5
