AMC lost $30.782 billion market cap from its ATH, which accounts for -96.25% market cap sucked out of the company.

Before you blame dilution. Understand that if all else is equal, then dilution does not cause the market cap to drop, rather the share price is what drops, but with the inflow of cash from buying new shares cause the market cap in theory to remain the same.

In reality fear or dilution does create selling pressure. However, most of the retail investors who bought AMC before June 2022 are still holding and have added to their position throughout the drop. This is what the OBV technical indicator has been suggesting. Retail owns about 74% of $AMC float. The majority of the 26% of institutional ownership is owned by Index Funds, which are passively managed. There is not much buying or selling taking place unless it's needed for regulatory reasons or rebalancing of portfolios.

So the big question is, if most Retail Investors have been buying and holding and Index Funds as been holding, then where was the selling pressure coming from besides the everyday shorting of the stock, which based on official data does not make sense to drop the market cap by -97% given the buy and hold scenario. Perhaps high-frequency trading is something to pay attention to and how it can be used to bid a stock price down in addition to legal shorting, illegal spoofing, and illegal naked short selling. These things will not be out of the question given the frequency and amount of FTDs created for $AMC. The most recent FTDs case for AMC was being on the Treshhold Securities list for 50 days. I personally witnessed spoofing taking place on #AMCSTOCK daily.

The math does not add for me. There seems to be complex financial engineering to bid the price of the stock down. There are $30.782 billion of liquidity that were sucked out of #AMC sitting in accounts of those betting against the company. That money is either realized capital gains from those that took profit or unrealized capital gains from short sellers that still have open short positions on $AMC. Given the short interest and other data, it indicates most of that liquidity is unrealized capital gains from open short positions.

AMC is a situation I have never witnessed in my life and can never put the pieces together. Many things do not make sense about the way the stock is trading and the constant negative press.

I wish I knew the outcome of this, but I don't. However, I am optimistic about the future of the movie business we cinemas.

Naturalized Americans who grew up outside the US are usually more appreciative of America because they know how bad the world is. Many local Americans, however, tend to be whiny, inappreciative and falsely think America is doomed. All Americans should be thankful that:
1- Despite lapses in judgement, past and present, America remains the most ethical government on the planet.
2- American system is one of the most responsive to popular will and change. Compare any issue today to where it was 10 years or 20 years ago and see how things always improve.
3- Liberty has been the cornerstone of American ingenuity. It has allowed bright ideas to grow and change the world (from human sciences to the internet, iPhone, social media). Meritocracy comes second. Stop trying to police ideas and impose equity. Many countries tried social and economic engineering and have miserably failed.
4- Patriotism (loyalty to constitution) rather than nationalism (loyalty to tribe/race/ethnicity) has allowed every American to own a piece of America. If you think America suffer discrimination, you haven't seen the rest of the world.
4- Humans are envious by nature and the world has been jealous of American success/power that exposes failures of other states/governments. These states have justified their failure by throwing it on America. A few Americans are unaware and believe this alien propaganda.
5- American military power is what stands between liberal democracies (Canada, Europe, Japan, South Korea, Israel) and a takeover by bloody brutal autocracies like China, Russia and Iran. Be thankful for this American power and stop thinking that indigenouity trumps innovation. Even indigenous cultures are not as indigenous as you think, going back a few hundred years max. Our diverse cultures are a source of strength, let's stop using them as tools for division.
