@kirawontmiss If land bugs had meat on them like sea bugs have to where they are actually worth eating, people would totally be eating them in the same way. Some people already eat some bugs anyways. Grasshoppers, crickets, locusts, qnd scorpions among other bugs are eaten in some cultures.
@elonmusk It's not fair that I have to drive an hour each way but you only have to drive 15min to work. So you must now drive around for 45min more before work for no reason to do the same job.
@Budgetdog_ It was about 8% of my take home when I had a car payment. Just bought a jetski at 1% financing and that is at about 11% but it's only a 3y loan not a 6y like my truck was.
@BarbellFi Spent 350k but probably have atleast 475k in equity now. So your over 100k in the positive instead of renting and being 200k in the negative.
@BarbellFi Personally I would of tried to stay under 700k with that earning power. But hard to say that not knowing the market or area they were looking for with jobs and everything else to consider
@alex_gayer 3605miles cost you $425. At $3.30 per gal that's almost 128 gal of fuel. So could do the same trip in a car that gets 28miles per gal for the same price but 9 hours quicker to not stop as long to charge.
@BoomerDivvies I'd take the free 2500 software house. Current rental rate for that in my area is 2500-3000 per month. So I'd get all the equity and price growth for retirement plus extra monthly income.
@realfrugalmogul Biggest thing that helped me trim 20lbs and stay there was cut carbs and sugars. Added more fiber to my diet with supplements or choices. Intermittent fasting so I no longer eat breakfast. I usually eat around 11am and then at 6pm. Walking or light exercising after meals.
@BarbellFi May be take the first couple years off for the new baby and see how fast things dwindle or don't. You get quality time with the baby and each other and get to test the waters. But personally I'd keep working an saving for another 5 or 10 years depending on rate of savings.
