@Heccles94 We already tax the rich. We have a progressive income tax system that disproportionately taxes higher income earners. We also have CGT, IHT, Stamp Duty etc that disproportionately affect the wealthy… A socialist utopia does not exist.
@ceidwadol@Concerned_of_UK@GBNEWS Respectfully. You’re wrong. It was always presented as a system of contributions in return for a universal state pension. People have made 40year plans in the expectation of receiving it. You have unfortunately bought the propaganda that billionaires have any effect on your life
@novaramedia These arguments are in bad faith. Why are you picking 15 years ago? Because it was immediately after the Global Financial Crisis when the UK was in recession and unemployment peaked…
@IanByrneMP@LabourOutlook How have you sat down with pen and paper and decided that is a good list. It sounds like the ramblings of a young child who wants chocolate, comic books and no school… You and your colleagues will not be happy until the UK is a wasteland.
@newstart_2024 I read posts like yours and I genuinely wonder whether you’re serious or soulless. Human nature is to look after our children. Wanting to see our children do better than ourselves. And being willing to help them in any way we can. I will never understand how you think.
@NHSMillion When’s your next strike for special treatment?Would like to have some idea so I can manage expectations with my parents to ensure they don’t stress.
@de_jever That’s what you think, but it’s ill-informed and you’re wrong. Our progressive tax code means that they pay proportionately more in income tax relative to the income they receive.
@LeeAndersonMP_ This is true. Small retail outlets are cutting back on staff hours and the number of workers per shift; and are doing more shifts themselves to reduce costs. It is doing harm.
@MrMBrown It’s just spin ... When borrowing costs fall - ‘it’s because of our credible plans’. When they rise - ‘it’s the right wing war’ (or other convenient issue to blame). I see the same tactic from Labour groups about small boat crossings.
@de_jever Shall we just abolish choice? Let the state dictate the car we drive, the house we live in, the haircut we have? The attacks on parents that choose to send their children to private school is literally class war.
@NeathJack1 Ok, so once you’ve shredded private schools, what next? Must we crush all choice so that we have the same car, the same house? Must we all wear the same clothes and have only approved haircuts?
@garyseconomics Markets are rational and are priced according to risk… There is no Bond Market ‘boogie man’ hiding in the shadows, no matter how much they are trying to create one to blame for their irresponsible increases in debt and the cost of servicing it.
@DraperOr Gary is very smart, no doubt. But this is not an intelligence issue. It’s ideology that is so entrenched that he can’t engage with evidence that contradicts his beliefs. There is zero chance of him ever considering he might be wrong.
